Ms. O’Neill’s Fifth Class created ‘Tornados in a Jar’. This involved creating a water vortex to examine the way in which air moves in a tornado. They also explored the ‘Water Cycle’ including water evaporation and condensation by using shaving foam and blue food colouring to represent clouds and precipitation. Finally, the class revised ‘Volcanic Eruptions’ by combining vinegar, food colouring and bicarbonate of soda in order to produce CO2.
