Kniiting in Ms. Griffin’s Class

4th Class students learn the skill of knitting with Ms.Griffin.
What are the benefits of learning to knit?
The structure, repetition and detailed orientated nature of the activity lends itself well to strengthening hand-eye coordination, building habits and focus, not to mention developing maths and counting skills as students learn to manage, change and adjust their stitches and patterns in pursuit of their goals.
Children who knit have a better emotional well-being. They often exhibit better social behaviours, an increased sense of teamwork and state that they feel calm and happy when they knit. It can also help ease anxious or self-conscious children by presenting them with a way to cope with stress.
