World Book Day 2024 at Bunscoil Mhuire was celebrated with pupils dressing up as characters from their favourite book.
Paired reading also took place between senior and junior classes. This strategy encourages students to work together and supports peer-assisted learning and cooperation through reading, listening and responding to other readers.
Reading for leisure benefits children in numerous ways. It improves their vocabulary and literacy skills, it encourages self-development and provides children with entertainment, relaxation and a means to escape.
