Bunscoil Mhuire students celebrated World Book Day with the children dressing up as a character from their favourite book. Students also enjoyed DEAR time ( Drop Everything and Read ), paired reading, writing book reports, designing book covers and World Book Day themed wordsearches and crosswords during the day.
Reading benefits children’s academic and personal development. It can help to expand vocabulary, improve empathy and increase concentration. Reading teaches children about the world around them, develops a child’s imagination and is a great form of entertainment.
